My name is Gina. My husband Art and I have lived in Ferndale since 1992. We have three wonderful children and our family is growing with two grandchildren. Since 1995 we have been providing an early enrichment and preschool program out of our home. These children have the opportunity to learn about our Little Loves, how to care for them, and what great friendship these little dogs can provide. The children do a wonderful job of helping to socialize the dogs and puppies too.
In 2006 we adopted our first Shih Tzu, Milo, and his sister Mazie came along shortly after. After having these two clowns and absolutely falling in love with them I wanted to bring more families the same joy we had found. This has become a passion and that's where Little Loves began.
Our goal is to breed for healthy, happy, and well socialized Shih Tzu babies that best represent the breed. We breed for the small standard Shih Tzu 9-10 pounds and the Chinese Imperial or tiny tupe Shih Tzu 4-8 pounds. The itty bitties are often referred to as Imperial Shih Tzu, Tiny Type Shih Tzu, Pocket Puppies, Toy Shih Tzu, Miniature Shih Tzu, or Teacup Shih Tzu...I am sure I have left some out. :) These precious babies come in a rainbow of colors including gold, black, tan, liver, chocolate, blue, red, silver, cream, white and these colors can also come in either solids or partis. All of our Little Loves are registered with the AKC (The American Kennel Club). We absolutely love these babies and only want the very best for them!
What is a Shih Tzu made of:
A dash of lion, a bit of a beggar, a tablespoon of monkey, several teaspoons of rabbit, a smigen of ballerina, a couple of ounces of domestic cat, one part baby seal and one part court jester, with a dash of teddy bear and last but not least a pinch of a wise old Chinese man. Wa-la you have a wonderful, charming, curious, brave, cunning, independent, wise Shih Tzu.
